Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ.   Ephesians 4:32

Are you finished with your Christmas shopping?  Have you picked out that special something for that special someone?

In our American culture we place a great emphasis on giving gifts at Christmas. I struggle with the pressure created by our consumer culture at Christmas time. I love to give and receive gifts, but you can lose sight of some important things if it’s all about buying presents. What can we give that money can’t buy?

This passage reminds us of two of the most needed things we possess and can give each day. We all have the ability to be kind and forgive. Every day there is an opportunity to show kindness and bring a little warmth to someone’s heart. The smallest effort can make the most significant impact in someone’s life. If you are patient and keep your eyes open every day, you will find moments to be kind and the opportunity to forgive.

Ask God if there is someone you need to forgive. Remember how the Father has forgiven you and with great kindness given you His Son. Today, be prepared to give the gift of kindness and forgiveness.
