Celebrate Life…

Today is my wife Amy's birthday.   She hasn't aged a day since this picture 20 years ago.  My life has been enriched by her every day.  No other woman would put up with me the way she does.  "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord."  Proverbs 18:22 Check out that mullet.  Aren't you jealous? We are only afforded so many such events to celebrate in life.  We [...]

Are you following Him?

Brace yourself.  I am haunted by what you are about to read.  So I don't take away from these words I will not say anything else except, please excuse my lack in poetic structure.  I copied this by ear.  The words are correct but may not be written out like it should as a poem.    When I became a Christian I said "Lord now fill me in; tell me what I'll suffer in this [...]

If we get our christology right, it will lead to a right missiology. [...]

Missio Dei

Where did God send you today?  In our attempt to find out what God wants us to do and in our churches looking to find a unique mission statement to follow, have we missed the simplicity of Missio Dei? This is an incredible video of Micheal Frost - missiologist at the Prebyterian Global Fellowship Conference in Houston, Texas.  When you have 52 minutes to spare this is a must see.  If you cannot watch the [...]

Going Missional…

I read an article this morning that made me think about the many trips I've taken with my family.  When we pack the car to go to Grandmom and Pop's house for Christmas with a family of five, packing becomes an art form if not an engineering miracle.  If you ask my wife, I am the worst at taking less. If you have flown lately you understand the value of less is more.  Less baggage [...]
