Incarnational

Love + Incarnational = Transformation

I stopped by my Grand Mother's house today to pick up some flowers she wanted us to have.  Granny Hobbs is 91 now and for as long as I can remember she has given everything away.  My daughter asked me, "Why is she giving us that stuff?" Well she also included a case of Yoohoo, Sunny D and cookies.  I told my daughter, "Granny Hobbs came into this world with nothing and she will leave with nothing", [...]

Shared life…

Today I played golf for the first time in 1 1/2 years.   I was invited by someone in my church who loves golf and lives on the 6th fairway at Beau Rivage.  My Dad was home, so the three of us hit the links.  It was the most awesome weather; great temperature with a nice breeze.  Now I'm not going to give Tiger Woods a run for his money, so I don't take things too serious.  But, [...]

"And the Word became flesh and [...]

Going Deep Pt. 1

Last week I started a new teaching series at The Dwelling Place entitled "Going Deep."  It was prompted by something I posted a few days back where I said "Going Deep is our part, going Big is God's part."  As I was reflecting on Acts 2 I noticed something that jerked me back like a dog on a leash. We have a tendency as church pastors and church planter to give in to the pressure [...]
